EDIT: I spent a lot of time revising this piece these past two weeks, making the designs more visually appealing as well as refining the overall painting. Please take another look at this artwork and leave a critique if you're so inclined :)

Her outfit does not look like it belongs to eachother, thus not aesthetic as opposed to the male character there. But she has a better weapon, it appears that the man must carry the heavy axe all the time rather than have it sheated.

Thanks for elaborating! Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Her outfit was a synthesis of Ancient Greek armor and Ancient Greek casual attire, but it was an experiment and perhaps not a successful one depending on the viewer. I'm sure I'll end up revising this again and revisit her design as well as think up a scabbard for his axe. Thank you for the critique, I appreciate it!

So looking at the detailing, as opposed to a mobile device it looks really good I just think you need more detail on the background and def sharpen or use a solid brush to bring out the folds in the clothing, unless you trying for a softer style. I do think you need to push the landscape behind them far more. Great work keep it going.

Hey, thank you for taking the time to give it another look! I'm definitely going to revisit the background and push the lighting/details there. I was trying to use the edges to help distinguish between soft and coarse materials but others have mentioned that I should be using that aspect to differentiate foreground and background/important details and insignificant details. I guess I'll have to think on that a bit more.

Thank you again for your advice, I greatly appreciate it :)

No problem you have some great work, looking at the dress at the femail I see the details on her armor below the fabric very nice touch. What software do use, I am currently working with sketchbook pro 6 and adobe photoshop cs6, I was thinking of moving into painter. I dont have much up on my end just some old stuff dont really want to post the new stuff until I get my site up live in 2 weeks, my work has greatly improved since. I def would love your input when I am up and running :). Best of luck to you and your work :)
